If in July 2013 the last UT3500 was withdrawn, this year it is worth regretting the loss of another EuskoTren series.
Last May 2nd, the last UT300 of Euskotren was withdrawn, in particular the 308, it was the only survivor since June 2016, which was in reserve on the Txorierri line until the opening of the L3 of the Bilbao Metro in April. 2017, but that, returned to serve as usual by operating a 3-station shuttle to connect Lutxana with Sondika and connect the Metro line 1 with the Txorierri.
With the arrival of the last 950, these units were relieved alternately at the end of 2017, making their last service on April 14, 2018.
Although these units are characteristic for having served on the Txorierri line, the only line that did not connect with the rest of the Euskotren lines was not their original destination.
Were built in 1990 for the (lasarte-hendaya line), but in 1995, were changed to the 200, which were assigned to the line of Sopelana and Lutxana.
In total there were 12 units of two cars, which, in days of work, circulated in double combination. His original scheme was pearl gray with a light blue line and a dark blue line and around the doors they had a circle that surrounded them.

Three of the units (UT310, UT311 and UT312) provided the Euskopullman service, which was a regional train with few stops that circulated between 1998 and 1999. Unlike the rest of the units, it had a bar, tables, more space between seats , served by 2 hostesses and a higher price. In addition, until the start of the installation of UT200 services at the end of 2008, these three regional units were the only ones in the Euskotren fleet with public toilets. They were suppressed an entrance door by side of car to gain space and were painted in Bordeaux red, with the word Euskotren with the letters of Eusko in golden color, like the shield of Euskopullman. The name of this regional service was reminiscent of the old Pullman de Ferrocarriles Vascongados. In 2000 this service was withdrawn due to its lack of acceptance and the interior was adapted, removing the extras. That same year, from 301 to 309 they were painted blue, carrying different inscriptions and logos until their retirement.

In 2004, the Bilbao-Donostia-Hendaye regional service was resumed, until 2013 when it was repealed. Two of these regional trains never returned to service, while the 310 took to the line of Lutxana to be renovated by retrieving the doors that were removed at the time, removing the toilet and painting them with a decoration similar to the 900 , being thus the only one of the series with this decoration. In July 2014 returned to service in the Txoriherri to be discharged in March 2016, after making a farewell trip with the round-trip 309 Amara-Bermeo.

In October 2009 the 303 took to scrapping after a tragic accident in Lezama causing 2 deaths, including the machinist.

A curious anecdote, was the one that took place at the end of summer of 2006, when by works in the line, the trains could not be cleaned in Lutxana, reason why during a pair of weeks all the units circulated painted, something nothing habitual in This line, since, with few exceptions and unlike the rest of the EuskoTren lines, they were usually removed the same day as soon as possible if they were painted.
For this reason, we make a special, as a tribute to this great model that we will not see running more commercially and we make a selection of photos of the last 20 years.
