Inspired by a love for gritty NYC street photography from the 1970’s and 1980’s, I’ve always been fascinated by graffiti when exploring cities. Upon discovering photographs from masters like Bruce Davidson, Martha Cooper, and Richard Sandler, I quickly became obsessed with images documenting graffiti trains and the subway. Since New York eradicated graffiti from the trains in the early ‘90s, I haven’t been able to find anything else like it in the world. This all changed when I stumbled across a YouTube video from the metro system in Bucharest, Romania. I’m fairly confident that Bucharest has the most metro graffiti in the world. Enjoy this short film as I document the Bucharest trains and metro system inside and out.
