In the temporary exhibition hall of the National Museum of Anthropology in Madrid, we find the exhibition ‘Everything began in 84. Origins of graffiti in Spain’ from June 24 to November 1. Free entrance.

A new program of temporary exhibitions around urban cultures is inaugurated with ‘Everything began in 84. Origins of graffiti in Spain’, an exhibition on the early years of graffiti and hip hop culture in Spain. The exhibition tells us how and when graffiti arrived in our cities and its evolution between 1984 and 1992. Pioneers of this movement have agreed to tell what happened and how they lived these years -few, but very significant- of cultural revolution in different cities of Spain.

The exhibition features historical photos of the first breakers and graffiti artists and collector’s items donated by highly relevant figures of this culture: original signatures, sketches, clothing, posters, correspondence, vinyl and diverse graphic and audiovisual material.
