Alonso Alcalde, creator of the PATIPERRO book, surprises us with a new project in the form of a classic map of the New York subway, in which we find photographs and texts that describe his work, inspiration and lifestyle. The format of this item is 10×22 cm folded and 100×66 cm open. My Mood Board Map is my first step in the odyssey of creating my second book. The form is a classic NYC subway map. All the pictures and artworks are things that inspire me such as collages, photography, trainwriting and architecture as well as my friends who are accomplices in most of my adventures. Also you find in it a text where I describe and comment the reasons why I want to make another mega project.

After finishing Patiperro I told myself that I would not publish another book in my life. I wasn’t willing to invest so much time and love into another megaproject, so I focused on more mundane things in life like tending to my garden, reading Murakami and not thinking about trains. Things were going pretty well. But as the months went by, I began to feel the sensation creeping in that I wasn’t doing anything 100% fulfilling. I started to flirt with the idea of creating something unique again — something that would bring great satisfaction to my life and would allow me to keep growing as a writer and artist. I sat back and reminisced about all the different cities, friends, and feelings that motivate me to create. The ideas started to fall into place and I set off on the odyssey of my 2nd book. I wanted to create this map to show the people, places and things that inspire me. You’ll also find parallel projects that I am working on at the moment, like the upcoming book of my brother Vino, Gran Reserva Vol. 2.
I am very happy to be a part of this and work on it as if it were my own. Stay tuned for this beautiful story. My 2022 Mood Board Map is a collection of everything that inspires me to always keep the flame of graffiti burning. These are the things that motivate me to step out of my comfort zone and achieve my goals of bring-ing something unique to the world.
