Last week the writer and artist FELIPE PANTONE was in Bilbao (Basque Country), to take part in ‘Arteko Container’ project for BIAD (Bilbao Art District).

“Arteko Container” is a project within the framework of Bilbao Art District (BiAD), a public-private initiative whose main objective is to support and promote the visual arts sector in Bilbao, converting the city into a meeting point for the different artistic agents and disciplines, as well as bringing art closer to the public. Amongst its most noteworthy actions is the holding of the annual Arts Weekend in May.

In this regard, in order to promote art, it needs to be created beyond a closed workshop or studio in a more open space that involves participation and community action.

On this occasion the work of the internationally-renowned artist Felipe Pantone (Buenos Aires, Argentina) will be on display, whose creations range from graffiti to kinetic art.

This artist reflects upon the standardising processes of international communication. He explores the subversive potential of artistic, scientific and electronic languages through hybridisation, focusing on impurity and the spread of typographical, figurative and abstract media.
