This Friday, the investigative program “Equipo de Investigación” on the Spanish channel La Sexta dedicated an episode to graffiti and street art. They explored everything from graffiti on trains to the work of Banksy.
The head of cleaning for the Madrid commuter rail network explained that cleaning one square meter costs €21.63, a panel approximately €350, and painting an entire train on both sides around €5,000. These figures contrast sharply with the inflated cleaning costs that Renfe (the Spanish national railway company) presents in court, such as €6,000 for cleaning a panel, which includes the cost of sanding and repainting the carriage.
